He is a team leader who everyone looks up to and respects. Whether you’ve known him for a day or three years, he will treat you with the utmost respect. Balancing school, basketball, and volleyball he never lost focus on what he wants in life. Extremely proud to have been a small part in this young man’s life.

All while maintaining a GPA that has him ranked 6th in his class. Give this guy an inch and he will make it a mile. He is going to do great things and I can’t wait to see everything he does!”

From PVHS’ Head Varsity Track & Field Coach Ben Alberry: “In my two years of coaching Track and Field here at PV, I have seen Katie Magni do throws, jumps, relays and almost all the sprinting events. There isn’t anything she can’t do or isn’t willing to try if it means it will help the team. Next fall, Katie Magni will be attending South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where she will run Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track. Between Pioneer Valley and St. Joes, Katie competed in Varsity level Sports every season for all four years of high school. Her sports included Cross Country, Soccer and Track and Field. She has been Captain of the Cross Country, Soccer, and Track and Field teams at PVHS for the last two years. Katie was All League in Cross Country as a junior and co-MVP of the Soccer team. She is a two-time qualifier for CIF in Cross Country and ran in the Southern Section Finals in 2017. On May 7, 2021, Katie was named CIF Scholar Athlete for the Central Section; she was one of nine girls selected out of 124 schools. On the same day, she was the anchor leg of the 4 X 400m relay team that qualified for CIF. Sporting a 4.33 total GPA with A's in every single class in high school, Katie will go on to study civil and environmental engineering with a simple goal of making the world a better place. Katie I am super proud of you for all you have accomplished and what you will accomplish at the next level. Thank you for all the time and effort you put in for our track team. I wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors.”
