Approved Photographers, Portrait Guidelines and Deadlines


SEPTEMBER 13, 2013:  Baby Pictures are due to Mr. Howard in Room 205.  Photos need to be wallet size and include the senior's name and Panther Forum teacher.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2013:  All seniors should have had their sitting with a local photographer from the list below for their senior portrait for the yearbook.

OCTOBER 15, 2013:   All senior Congratulations and Senior Memories are due to "The Yearbook Company" not to PVHS.  Keep your orginal photos and make a copy for PVHS - copies will not be returned.  Do not mail your advertising to the school.  Mail to:

NOVEMBER, 2013:   As of 11-8-13, over 150 seniors have not submitted a senior picture and will not be shown in the yearbook.The senior portraits received to date are posted outside of room 205.  Please take a look next week to see if your portrait is there.  If not, make an appointment with Mr. Howard in room 205 for your free sitting during lunch.  The last senior portrait make up day will be the 2nd week of November.


JANUARY 31, 2014:  All yearbooks must be pre-ordered by 1/31/14.  All yearbook purchases must be made online at at - no yearbooks will be sold on campus.  Yearbooks will only be sold as pre-orders and will NOT be sold at the end of the year.


The Board of Trustees of the Santa Maria Joint Union High school District has approved the following dress code for senior portraits to be included in the yearbook.

Not considered suitable for publication are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Others in the picture with the senior: no children, spouses, friends, or relatives
  • Attire which is not neat, clean and non-disruptive
  • Hats or any head covering / head gear
  • Clothing which does not cover the chest and upper torso
  • Any apparel with rips or holes
  • Visible tattoos
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Anything that promotes, advertises, implies or suggests the useof drugs, alcohol or tobacco
  • Obscenity or lewdness
  • Anything that is inflammatory in regard to race, religion or heritage
  • Anything that identifies, promotes or relates to gangs or gang affiliation

Seniors and their parents may choose to have portraits taken by a photographer of their choice, however only those photos taken by a photographer on the approved list below and following the specifications listed above will be included in the yearbook. Please review this lists and keep these guidelines in mind when you schedule senior pictures.
