Viticulturists Begin Harvest

Three years ago, a quarter acre of grapes were planted on PVHS campus.  Varietals include chardonnay, pinot noir and syrah.  The first harvest has begun and student horticulturists have been involved in picking grapes, testing sugar content and preliminary preparations for the fermentation process.  Once fermentation begins, the grapes will be turned over to a local winemaker, according to department chair and ag teacher Hector Guerra.
