PV Garners First Two Elks Awards

Last night, two of PV's top students were honored as Elks Students of the Month.  Jedidiah Jimenez and Erick Pinedo Tovar were chosen for their outstanding academics, school and community involvement.  

Erick has been on the school track team participated in campus clubs including UNICEF, Soeicaty of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Key Club and Astra.  Including his community services hours, he has volunteered over 600 hours of his time to help others.  Previously he was chosen as the Boys & Girls Club Coastal Youth of the Year.  He ranks 8 in his class of 624.  His plan is to attend one of the UC schools after graduation.

Jedidiah too is involved at school and in the community.  A member of Key Club, SHPE, AVID, Hiking Club, CSF and Drama, he has held numerous leadership roles.  He is an acocmplished pianist and plays for different events including for the enjoyment of senior citizens at a local retirement home.  He has won speaking competitions and currently ranks 2nd in his class.  He hopes to attend MIT or Cal Poly and major in mechanical engineering.
