Students from the AVID class of 2020 spent all day outside the local Wal Mart store on December 1st for a great cause.  Each holiday season, the Salvation Army enlists volunteer bell ringers who are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises the funds that sustain the help we give all year long. The Salvation Army relies on money raised in red kettles to serve more than 25 million people in need each year.

Student volunteer Daisy Bautista shared, "The experience was heartwarming with the smile that appeared on people's faces when they were wished Happy Holidays by a stranger."

Math/AVID Teacher Trestina Leornas-Hurtado described the community service as “outstanding”. "My AVID class is passionate about giving back to the community and I am glad they had this opportunity,’’ Leornas-Hurtado added
