Two PV seniors were recently awarded the Chamber of Commerce Youth of the Month Award.  Erick Tovar and Isai Tinoco Gutierrez were notified of winter break they were selected for the months of November and December respectively.  They, their parents and school officials will attend a luncheon on Monday, January 27th where they will be recognized for their achievements.

Erick Pinedo Tovar has been actively involved in the Keystone Program of the Boys & Girls Club, in school's Key Club and at his local church.  With a 4.26 GPA, his post-high goals are to attend Cal Poly majoring in civil engineering.  Isai Tinoco Gutierrez has been active in Society of Hipanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Key Club and volunteers for the SB County Animal Shelter.  He has been on school track and cross-country teams and hopes to attend Cal Poly as a computer science major.

The Chamber recognizes the importance of recognizing young people who are going above and beyond in terms of preparing for their future. They also want to encourage youth in our community to get involved now in places and find ways they can make a difference. Partnering with our local schools and the Santa Barbara County Education Office, the Chamber recognizes one high school student each month at membership events.
