PVHS Hires New Men's Wrestling Coach

New Men's Wrestling Coach

Pioneer Valley High School has selected Cristian Cardenas as the new varsity head men's wrestling coach.

Cardenas, who served as assistant wrestling coach for the program, replaces Brett Sanchez. Sanchez returned to Oregon where he is now the head coach at Clackamas Community College.

“I’m super excited to lead this program and be back on campus,’’ said Cardenas, a former PV alumni and Cal Poly graduate.

Cardenas currently works on campus as a teacher.

“Cristian has a great men’s wrestling schedule lined up for this season and we know he is going to do great things,’’ said Panther Athletic Director Anthony Morales. “PV is very lucky to have Cristian work with our youth, not only on the mat but in the classroom. Go Panthers!”
